Baikal   Ice Marathon- 2011 

The year of 2011 will be the 7-th year since UNO had proclaimed a decade of 2005-2015  as International Decade for Action “Water for Life” during which there should be at all levels a greater focus on water related issues.  

On March,06,2001, the 7-th edition of Baikal Ice Marathon as “Clean Waters Conservation Runs” shall also and again be held on the ice frozen Lake Baikal – the world’s deepest, largest in volume and oldest fresh water lake.

 Well of the Planet Earth, Sacred Sea, Siberia’s Pearl or Treasure of the World are few of the names that respectfully and with reverence refer to LakeBaikal. And in first turn,   the Baikal is a live body of Great Water - the beginning and the continual of life on Earth.
